Post Tattoo Instructions
Following these steps will help your tattoo heal beautifully.
If you have any questions or notice signs of infection (like redness, warmth, or excessive swelling), don’t hesitate to reach out!
-
Leave the wrap on for the first 1-4 hours after your tattoo session to protect the area from bacteria and contaminants.
Wash your hands before handling your new tattoo.
-
If your tattoo is wrapped with Saniderm, follow these steps:
First 24 Hours
Leave the Saniderm on for 12-24 hours. It’s normal to see fluid build-up under the wrap.
Remove the first Saniderm gently after 24 hours, especially if it’s filled with fluid.
Wash the tattoo with fragrance-free antibacterial soap, then let it air dry.
Applying a New Saniderm Wrap
Reapply a fresh piece of Saniderm on the clean, dry tattoo.
Keep this second wrap on for 3-6 days (as long as it’s clean and intact).
Remove the Saniderm if you notice any irritation, excessive fluid, or discomfort.
After Removing Saniderm
Wash the tattoo once more with antibacterial soap.
Moisturize with a fragrance-free, tattoo-safe lotion 2-3 times daily for at least two weeks.
-
If your tattoo is wrapped with saran wrap, follow these instructions:
First Night (Day of Tattoo)
Remove the saran wrap after 1-4 hours.
Wash the tattoo gently with fragrance-free antibacterial soap.
Pat dry with a clean paper towel—do not rub.
Wrapping at Night (Optional)
Re-wrap with saran wrap overnight for the first 2-3 nights to protect your sheets from ink and plasma. Make sure it’s loose enough to allow some airflow.
Each morning, remove the wrap, wash the tattoo, and let it air dry.
Daily Aftercare (After Initial Wrapping Period)
Moisturize 2-3 times daily with a fragrance-free, tattoo-safe lotion for two weeks.
-
Avoid direct sun exposure on the tattoo for at least 3-4 weeks.
Do not submerge the tattoo in water (pools, oceans, bathtubs) for 3-4 weeks.
Avoid picking or scratching as the tattoo peels to prevent scarring and color loss.
Wear loose clothing to prevent rubbing on the tattooed area.
